3. Photovoltaic panels save energy by adapting the sunlight into electricity, this is called the photoelectric effect, which was discovered by Einstien in the early 1920′s. Today the technology has been adapted into solar panels which are mede up of 2 very thin silicon plates, a positive plate and a negative plate, when sunlight hits the plates electrons jump form psoitive to negative causing a current to flow.
